Strategic Network Architectures - Getting the Most from your Network and your Vendors
7 November 2006

Most enterprises come to rely too much on specific, trusted vendors. The relationship transitions from one of a vendor partnership to one where the enterprise starts to cede control of the strategic direction for the network architecture. The Vendor Influence Curve will help network managers evaluate their vendor relationships and provide the basis to improve their network architecture, better meeting business requirements, with a bonus of reducing capital and maintenance costs.

Topics Discussed

Gartner analysts discussed with participants the following topics:

  • How should network architects approach overarching network design issues?
  • How should enterprises deal with key vendor relationships?
